The Responsibilities of a Fire Watch Attendant
Fire Watch Attendants are personnel who are responsible for fire safety on a worksite when hot works are being performed. They are responsible for identifying fire hazards based on sparks emitting from hot works such as through welding. These first responders are trained to respond and to prevent combustion.
Fire Watch Attendants (FWA) are trained in fire extinguishment techniques to mitigate the spread of incipient flames. They are very observant and aware of basic safety and they respond with the use of a fire extinguisher to respond as required.
